The SuperBowl of Advertising

While some folks will be cheering for the Seahawks and others for the Patriots on Sunday, I’ll be cheering for the ads. And may the best ads win. At a cost of $4.5 million for 30 seconds, it may be the best advertising value of all for mega brands. After all, it is a rare opportunity to reach over 100 viewers covering almost all demographics and age groups watching simultaneously.
So when you watch the ads on Sunday, you’re going to see a lot of dogs and puppies. Why? The market research people will tell you that those puppy ads consistently connect with people emotionally. And winning hearts is what building strong brands is all about. Consistency also plays a huge role in brand building, so its no surprise that the king of beers has been one of the largest, most consistent Superbowl advertisers over the years. At he end of the day, ask yourself which ads you remember. Which ones you like most. And ask yourself if “This Bud’s for you.”
