Findings from a recent State of Marketing report reveal marketers have prioritized responsive design for their web pages and emails. As it now stands, a staggering 90% of marketers consider mobile instrumental in generating ROI – hence, the current proliferation of campaigns designed for smartphones and tablets.

Where, according to the report, are brand marketers seeing the most ‘oomf’ from their mobile campaigns? Here are the categories and the percentage of marketers who thought mobile was effective for them.

  • Loyalty programs – 86%
  • Holiday or event campaigns – 83%
  • Promoting email subscriptions via SMS – 83%
  • Mobile welcome SMS – 84%
  • Driving cross-channel engagement – 83%
  • Mobile-exclusive deals – 85%

Drumming up new business will definitely require a commitment to smartphones and tablets. Mobile is the new customer hangout, the Starbucks of the digital world. And it will be where more and more of them spend their online time as the years unfold.
