Well, it is official. Satya Nadella is the new CEO at Microsoft. Though born and raised in India, he was educated in the U.S. I see a few reasons to celebrate Microsoft’s decision.1) He’s a global guy. This appointment speaks volumes about Microsoft’s commitment to global. 2) He is an insider. He is an engineer. He is a Microsoft lifer. This speaks volumes to the teams at Microsoft about the worth of their contributions and I suspect the decision will increase both loyalty and innovation at the world’s largest software company. 3) Bill Gates returns. His plan to spend more time with Nadella at Microsoft will prove to be a rich experience for everyone and the world will benefit from their creativity.
