Why virtual meetings are a permanent reality!

Video conferencing has been around since 1964. But social distancing and quarantine rules driven by Covid 19 have accelerated its usage to become an everyday experience for many businesses, forcing luddites to get better at it. And it is not going to stop when the masks come off. In fact, you will see even more of it.

Why? The technology is only going to get better, as will the environments for video meetings both at home and at the office. Dedicated access links, like UberConference and JoinMe, already exist and speed up the process of starting a meeting. Additionally, virtual meeting technology will be enhanced with more customizable solutions that allow corporations to brand their meeting space. 3D visualization and AI will create a new type of virtual meeting environment.

Changing Tides – March 2021

Similar to the Dick Tracy wrist phone, which is a reality now, the meeting of holograms at the same table is just around the corner. Customized virtual reality settings with personalized avatars are not far off. And with travel time and related costs reduced, there will be more budget for superior online environments.

Do not get me wrong, I still prefer in-person meetings. But virtual meetings and webinars are too practical, convenient and cost-effective to go away. Think of all the time you would put into traveling to a live conference: the packing, the driving to the airport, the flying...On the other hand, you could do several virtual meetings across the globe in a single day without having to leave your home or office.

That’s why virtual meetings are here to stay.
