The Yin and Yang of Corona Shuffle – May 2020

Changing Tides – January 2019

The Yin and Yang of Corona Shuffle

When I was young, I was grounded. More than once. But never for a month. This COVID-19 stay at home order is similar, except that everyone is grounded. Well, almost everyone.

For those not directly affected by the Coronavirus, there have been many changes to daily life. Here is how I see the Yin and Yang of the Corona Shuffle:

  • Much less traffic
  • No friends can come out to play
  • Learn new software
  • No good news or live sports on TV
  • Walking the dog is more fun
  • No restaurant food
  • Healthier diet
  • No in-person meetings
  • Time to think about what matters
  • No end date to being grounded

The Coronavirus has brought about much suffering and tragedy. We came close last week when my wife Cindi was admitted to ER for what turned out to be pneumonia. Whew! What a blessing. She is getting better now.

While no end to the pandemic can be confirmed, the virus will be tamed, and the Corona Shuffle will come to an end. Soon, I hope, we will step out from behind our screens. We will look each other in the eye — instead of the camera. We will clink glasses. We will exchange hugs. We will travel the congested freeway again.

Until then, stay healthy and stay positive. I look forward to seeing you in person.

Client Spotlight: Irvine Subaru

Octavo Systems

For years, we have said "Love, It's what makes a Subaru, a Subaru". Subaru drivers love life, the outdoors, pets, and the venerable old Subaru they've been driving forever. The Subaru Love Promise expresses the vision of the company and its retailers to show love and respect to all people at every interaction with Subaru.

Right now, love is more important than ever before. In response to the devastating challenges of COVID-19, Subaru and its retailers are donating 50 million meals to Feeding America. That’s 50 million meals to help feed those who need the help of local food banks. It’s all part of Subaru Loves to Help… an ongoing commitment to our communities through the Subaru Love Promise. Subaru is part of our communities, and we’re determined to be there when they need us most. Love. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

For Irvine Subaru, our hearts will always be in our community. That’s why we’re proud to be donating 182,724 meals to our local Second Harvest Food Bank to help feed those families affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
