Prestigious Gold Icon Award Bestowed Upon Young Company - August 16, 1999

Already racking up a good share of awards this year, the Young Company took home a gold ICON Award from the recent Fifth Annual 1999 ICON Awards ceremony held in San Francisco. Young Company received the award for its direct mail campaign that launched Texas Instruments’ C2700 DSP core product.

The ICON Award honors excellence in technology marketing communications and is sponsored by Marketing Computers magazine, the leading source for technology marketing intelligence.

Bart Young, President of Young Company, remarked, “As a business-to-business agency that specializes in high-tech, we’re excited to receive such a prestigious award from Marketing Computers. The number of creative entries submitted this year was astounding — we’re so pleased to have captured the gold.”

Young Company’s award-winning campaign for Texas Instruments Storage Products Group focused on capabilities and consisted of four packages, each carrying a different message about the C2700 DSP. The creative boxes were big and bright — neon with large, two-word headlines “offering more capabilities than competitors.” Targeted at developers and engineers, the boxes included such treasures as an 11-piece computer repair toolkit, a glass encased beetle (an effective debugging device), a stop-clock and Chinese stress balls, reminding clients that flexibility and speed are still important to engineers.
