Bart Young, CEO & Creative Director
As a professional marketer and strategist, Bart has guided a number of significant clients in attaining category leadership with award-winning advertising and public relations. Through his guidance and leadership Young Company is recognized as one of the top 25 business-to-business agencies in the U.S.
As the agency’s executive creative director, Bart has led his staff in winning over 100 awards of excellence in advertising, public relations and Internet marketing. Major clients have included a number of Fortune 500 brands, including ARAMARK, Fluor Corporation, HP, Hughes, IBM, Northrop Grumman, TDK and Texas Instruments, as well as a number of major software, semiconductor and Internet companies.
Bart’s career in advertising began at age seven, when he spent the summer stuffing envelopes for a direct mail campaign at his father’s company, Speer, Young & Hollander. In 1983, Bart took over as President of SYH and built it into one of Southern California’s leading independent agencies. Earlier in his career, Bart was Director of Marketing for InfoSci, a Palo Alto-based high-technology consulting firm. During college he interned at J. Walter Thompson Advertising in San Francisco.
Bart holds both BS and MBA degrees in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley where he studied with global brand equity expert David Aaker. He has been an Associate Professor at California State University, Los Angeles.

Robyn DeTorres, Digital Marketing Director
Ranked by LinkedIn as one of the top ten digital marketing strategists in the U.S. Robyn first learned about the power of SEO in 2003 in one of her web design classes at Santa Monica College. This was years before Google offered analytics and all the data was tabulated by hand. She quickly realized the importance of finding a website through natural search, and found that she had an instinct for strategic optimization of websites. It was then that she decided to focus her career on digital marketing. After spending more than ten years in this ever-evolving field, Robyn is one of the elite few who speak in terms of bots, algorithms, CPC and conversions, and knows the right tools to push websites out of the doldrums and up to the head of their category. With a penchant for design, Robyn loves black and white photography and creating works of art in stained glass.
Lori Robinson, Media Manager
As media planner and buyer, Lori handles broadcast, print and online media for a variety of clients. As a negotiator, she is very effective in obtaining the best rates and value-added merchandising for our clients. She has extensive experience in the fields of automotive, construction, education, environmental, finance, healthcare, manufacturing and retail markets. A strong work ethic, flexibility and quest for learning allows her to stay abreast of the latest trends in media. In addition she brings with her over 20 years of experience in accounting, administration and human resources.
As a local Laguna Beach resident, Lori enjoys the beach and the nature of the canyon. Her other hobbies include reading, collecting history, archeology and esoteric books, and watching old classic and silent films.
Janet Roberts, Public Relations Manager
Janet has over 25 years of experience, shared between the areas of marketing communications and software engineering. Her combined talents complement each other extremely well and have enabled her to be very effective in marketing both high-tech and consumer products and services.
Janet’s experience includes working with companies such as Information Systems Laboratories, Quintron Systems, WebConcepts, International Rectifier, FileNet, ITT Industries, and more. She has also assisted other companies such as Cimnet Systems, Eidogen, Etreby, Web4 and Chicago Interface Group with their strategic marketing analysis, advertising, and technical literature.
Earlier in her career, Janet held the position as Manager of Marketing Communications at MicroSim Corporation, a software company in the Electronic Design Automation industry. She was responsible for strategic marketing planning, product and company positioning, public relations, and the development and implementation of all marketing communication activities.
Janet earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Quantitative Business Analysis from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, California). She has also pursued subsequent graduate studies in marketing communications and software engineering.
Reid B. Horton, Senior Web Developer & Account Manager
Reid has over 10 years of experience designing, building, and managing digital marketing campaigns. As a self-taught WordPress veteran, Reid has designed and managed a multitude of lead generating websites, for industries like Real Estate, Surf/Skate Clothing, Law, Music, Dog Rescue, and more. His keen sense of design aesthetics blend with his sharp eye for correctly optimizing websites to clearly reach, and resonate, with the intended audience. Reid also handles our clients email marketing strategies, allowing his knowledge of user tendencies and strategic delivery techniques to effectively reach our clients customers. With experience in graphic design for print & web, social media management, and marketing automation, Reid constantly brings fresh ideas to our team, instantly increasing the amount of tools we can offer to clients.
In 2007, he played professional baseball in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, for the Robur '58 Baseball Club. Reid also performs as a disco/house DJ.
Skylar Neilson, Web Developer
Skylar is a Web Developer at Young Company that is ambitious about front-end Web Design and digital marketing. He attended Brigham Young University- Idaho where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Web Development with an emphasis in Web Design. He has 4+ years experience in web technologies and enjoys exploring and expanding his knowledge of creating unique designs and styles. He is experienced in numerous web technologies both in marketing and web design.
Outside the office Skylar loves spending time with his adventurous wife surfing in the ocean, biking, snowboarding, and hiking in the mountains, cruising through the city on his skateboard and eating Mexican food.
Kaitlyn Kambestad, Social Media Manager
Kaitlyn’s background in theater provides her with unusually strong skills in the areas of creativity, collaboration and discipline, all of which transfer well to her position as social media manager. Add to these her extensive experience in digital marketing, and our clients are assured of receiving content that is persuasive and compelling. As a creative, Kaitlyn continues to participate in theater productions. She is always in the mood for fine wine and enjoys working out and playing golf.
Sean Menchaca, Art Director
Sean Menchaca, a South Orange county native, is joining young company as a marketing associate/graphic artist where his design talent is clearly evident. He recently graduated from California state university Fullerton where he received his bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in advertising/marketing. While in school, he also co-founded an action sports and lifestyle clothing brand called Reel Lifestyles. In doing so, he has gained valuable brand communications skills, utilization of current social media outlets and pushed his graphic design expertise. He likes to stay busy and make good use of his free time and by doing so he enjoys motocross, mountain biking, bodysurfing and snowboarding.
Kaelyn Kaichi, Digital Marketing Coordinator
Kaelyn’s background in marketing and prodigious organizational skills provide the administrative backbone so necessary to the smooth running of digital marketing programs. With her expertise in Search Engine Optimization, her thorough tracking and reporting of the resulting online presence to our clients and her daily mantra to support better client service, Kaelyn has taken project management to a new level. When she is not working, Kaelyn likes to play soccer, read and spend time with her three dogs.
Patrick LeMaster, Digital Marketing Specialist
Patrick is a digital marketer focused on lead generation strategies. With years of marketing experience in different industries, his ability to innovative new solutions mixed with the right skill set to execute, makes him a valuable member of our team. Patrick has extensive experience in social media and community management, social media sponsored ad campaigns, Google AdWords, and content marketing. He’s loves photography and videography as well.
When he isn’t working, he spends his time staying active, mostly playing basketball. Being that he was born and raised in Southern California, Patrick bleeds purple and gold as a big LA Laker fan. He enjoys quiet time with his family but also has a very busy social agenda to attend to. One of his biggest passions in life is traveling. When asked where he likes to travel to, Patrick replied: “Wherever my next adventure takes me.”
Heather Gregory, Marketing Associate
Heather provides marketing support in both research and marketing intelligence for several Young Company clients. She is a tech savvy student of marketing at California State University, Fullerton, where she studies communications with emphasis in advertising. Heather joined the Young Company team as an intern and was subsequently asked to join the team. She enjoys both visual and copy based creative problem solving. In her free time, you can find Heather at the yoga studio, snowboarding in Mammoth, or planning her next backpacking trip.
Caitlin Konop recently graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Advertising and Psychology. As a go-getter, she enjoys implementing innovative ideas for brands to succeed in today's technology-driven world. From the background analysis to the creative execution, Caitlin has an array of marketing talents. In her free time, you'll find Caitlyn at the gym, listening to music, or at home hanging with her pug, Chloe.
Andrew Merdjanian is a graduate of California State University Long Beach, where he majored in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. As a lifelong student of Marketing and Advertising, Andrew is analytical and strategic, with excellent problem solving skills. He is organized, efficient, and goes the extra mile for on-time content delivery. When he isn’t at the office, he spends time exercising or playing the guitar.
Jenn Fabian is a current strategic communications major in the University of Missouri School of Journalism. Coming all the way from St. Louis, Jenn is joining Young Company as a digital marketing intern. She received international writing and communications experience while working in Brussels, Belgium, as well as copywriting experience for a fully integrated marketing campaign. Jenn focuses on brainstorming strategic tactics while adding a creative edge.

Sarah Powell is finishing her senior year at the University of San Francisco, where she continues to learn more about innovative marketing strategies from the biggest and brightest minds of Silicon Valley. As an intern in the Bay Area, as well as in Dublin Ireland, she has worked in a variety of industries, including food service, technology, manufacturing and internet start-ups. Sarah enjoys travelling, cooking and music concerts.
